@Laberpferd@sueden.social I've never seen the transparent stuff until silicone came along.
As for testing, the plan is to replace it with modern wires. I can send you the old stuff for testing. 😉

@VintageProject@oldbytes.space i have no much experience with all the styles of house instalation, but freom repairing measuring equipment of the decades i know PVC-isolated wires in weird and sometimes fancy colors, like half-transparent or pearlshine Hmm i also might still have somewhere samples of double isolated mains wiring, with color coded wires inside a transparent shell
