@scott@carfree.city I think you'd run into output limits with any reasonably-sized battery. My medium-size battery (300Wh, about the size of a car battery but much lighter) has a max output of 300W with 500W surge. That's a quarter of a kettle's 1200-1500W. And boiling water is quite energy-intensive: boiling 1L of water from room temp takes ~100Wh, which is fully a third of my battery's capacity. I discovered you *can* get little travel mug-sized kettles that run on 300W - I found one at a thrift store and bought it for the novelty, the one I have seems to work as promised, and looks similar to what you find if you search for "NiceWell Travel Kettle". I'm a little wary of it, that's a lot of power/heat to be putting into an off-brand cylinder, but...might be an option!
