Ok there’s actually *three* reasons I have trouble hiring. The third one is that I don’t want to be anyone’s boss. I don’t even want this company to be what people think of when they hear the word “company.”
If I’m honest with myself, starting this venture was not so much an exercise in “entrepreneurship” for me as it was a “going on strike.” But that is hard to do for 2 1/2 years. It’s lonely. We can’t gain people’s trust if we can’t support them. Oh yeah: and we can’t live without income.

@impermanen_@zirk.us Good workers need minimal bossing and those who need a lot of bossing aren't good. At least that's been my experience, both as employee and employer. Valve (Steam) has or had some kind of "do whatever you want" approach to management that seemed to work for them: https://www.bbc.com/news/technology-24205497
