@fbinin@mastodon.fbin.in @prav Do you see these #xmpp services replacing #WhatsApp one day? If we keep thinking we only need to make individual choices to defeat WhatsApp, we are going to lose. Prav is a collective, coordinated effort. Our costs - hosting, SMS, events, developing features, all are real. Someone has to pay, if you would like to sponsor the whole, we'd be happy to offer it free of cost as well :) We just have to find the funds from somewhere, not necessary only from users directly.

@fbinin@mastodon.fbin.in @prav If we have funds, we can hire system admins and they can address issues quickly. We can't do it with just volunteers. We run services as volunteers for 10+ years already. durare.org poddery.com git.fosscommunity.in etc Sometimes things remain broken for days, weeks or even months, even if the fix is as simple as updating tls certificate. Sometimes the software never gets updated or updating is really hard. In #Prav, we want to hire system admins to ensure timely fixes.
