@ariarhythmic@ohai.social So we're getting rid of Nvidia, Epic, Meta, and the rest, right? Because, alas, half the corporate sponsors now are AI companies, and the other half are probably peddling or using it. We are not living in a world without AI money being injected into every facet of tech industry anymore. That's a ridiculous line to draw when we talk about corporate sponsorships (and we should have corporate sponsorships, they should pay for FOSS). Blender was not about to integrate "AI".

@ariarhythmic@ohai.social I know you saw at least one of my posts before. You know my feelings about AI. I think it's important that Blender doesn't collude with AI companies on features, that it doesn't develop its own genAI tools, no chatbots, no nothing. But FOSS projects cannot really reject big lumps of money. There is very little choice, because sustaining FOSS is incredibly hard. We should not be chastising Blender in these moments, we should be supporting it.
