just in case anybody wonders why I cwboost post with the tag "on a white background", it's because long covid can give you light sensitivity that feels like migraine light sensitivity feels (i.e. painful), and far too many of the people who see my posts have long covid :cat_frown: for reference, even with my phone screen set to the darkest it can get to, coming across something on my feed with a white background is literally painful for me :not_like_this: I'm just glad Moshidon has a backrooms colour setting so black that makes pixels indistinguishable from having the screen off~

@OctaviaConAmore@cutie.city I remember having that issue a lot when I was falling asleep to pokemon speedruns. I never managed to get my TV dark enough to where the mostly white screens of older pokemon games weren't too bright for me...

@OctaviaConAmore@cutie.city I see this as a general reminder that light sensitivity involves also images on screens and adds yet another reason why images of text (and platforms optimizing for these) are not ok. And now I'm aware that I'm not using the default higher brightness mode of my screen.

@OctaviaConAmore@cutie.city coincidentally I currently have a song stuck in my head, the lyrics of which repeat the phrase "don't turn on the bright lights" for several minutes (and yeah, light sensitivity sucks, though mine didn't get as bad as yours)
