@OctaviaConAmore@cutie.city I remember having that issue a lot when I was falling asleep to pokemon speedruns. I never managed to get my TV dark enough to where the mostly white screens of older pokemon games weren't too bright for me...

@OctaviaConAmore@cutie.city I see this as a general reminder that light sensitivity involves also images on screens and adds yet another reason why images of text (and platforms optimizing for these) are not ok. And now I'm aware that I'm not using the default higher brightness mode of my screen.

@OctaviaConAmore@cutie.city coincidentally I currently have a song stuck in my head, the lyrics of which repeat the phrase "don't turn on the bright lights" for several minutes (and yeah, light sensitivity sucks, though mine didn't get as bad as yours)
