Today’s couple’s counseling felt more like a resistance meeting than it felt like we had any things that we needed to talk about.
Our therapist knew I was an artist but Matt just jumped in with “Look. He’s an #LGBTQ+ #eroticartist of note. He’s been at it forever.”
Therapist was like “Wow. This whole time you’ve been modest about what you do, like you’re on the down low.” 1/4

“Well the reason I don’t lead with what my passion is, is because knowing that will often color people’s view of & interaction w/ me in such a way that often will make it hard to know the real me. And that’s the last thing I want to do in therapy where I have to be vulnerable. Otherwise what the fuck are we doing?! Also, being ‘Drub’ was a conscious decision to shield my private life, family& myself from the insane world we live in. It’s like putting on ‘Iron Man’ armor.” 2/4
