“Well the reason I don’t lead with what my passion is, is because knowing that will often color people’s view of & interaction w/ me in such a way that often will make it hard to know the real me. And that’s the last thing I want to do in therapy where I have to be vulnerable. Otherwise what the fuck are we doing?!

And then we totally jumped tracks and started talking about our political views & how that butt up against my art/persona… “The simple act of who we are as gay men, being socialist, a union member, making the art that I do under this aegis allows me to really figure out who I am. The simple act of pleasure and my expression of joy in its many forms is threatening to America at present. And the Gay Respectability Police can go fuck themselves.” 3/4
