@Curator@mastodon.art It's not a great announcement. I appreciate they have announced it openly. And they're... not happy it as well it seems. But they do get money and that is good... i don't want them to be dependent on Anthropic... and I hope that pans out.
Is this a situation where Blender should say, we won't accept your money?

@OliviaVespera@spacey.space Considering that Anthropic is one of the companies that stole artists' work (edit to clarify: writing, https://www.dutchuncle.co.uk/blog/anthropic-case-illustrators-ai-and-copyright) to train their GenAI, and then their involvement in war and genocide... yeah

@OliviaVespera@spacey.space @Curator@mastodon.art I agree, they should say piss off. Won't stop me from using Blender, because this doesn't mean the Blender foundation *advocates* Anthropic - they do need money after all (and part of me says just take the effing money and run!)
