@tendstofortytwo@social.treehouse.systems is "intersectionality" the right word? let's make this a better society for immigrants, trans people, and everyone else that doesn't fall into those categories... i'm glad you came here and that i get to have you as a friend!

@onfy@sleeping.town I'm glad to have you as a friend too! I think the term applies, but being an immigrant and being a trans person for me have been such different experiences that it almost feels odd to lump them in together. in an ideal world I would like to completely forget I'm an immigrant, or not be one at all. on the other hand, I don't want to forget or be rid of my transness, because it's unlocked so much for me in terms of community, and in terms of thinking about myself and other people. it's a pretty "high up on maslow's triangle" sort of thing in that way
