@misterdave@tilde.zone It's not even mathematically spherical. I work in land law, and this is a real problem that requires very smart people to deal with. At small scale, we only have to deal with local terrain. At large scale, it can be a real headache, requiring academics. At global scale, pretty much only scientists can manage it. I mean, they literally use satellite data and star charts for some of this, it's that estoteric.
