So much of what Codex is doing should be built-in to Apple's own workflows, in the OS and Xcode. But Apple is so far behind that we're really starting to get a runaway snowball effect. Two years ago, there was thought to be no moat around generative AI, but the moats are rapidly getting deeper and deeper today, and Apple is outsourcing to Google — whose AI isn't even in the conversation for Apple users or developers now — because they were too cheap to pay for either of the top 2 providers 👀
