I see it like Factorio. It started as a crowdfund/Kickstarter so selling it below the price the backers paid diminishes the trust the backers showed.

Imo that's backwards. Who cares. The backers backed it because they believed in the vision, and now it's been realized, so it's done. It'd be like getting mad that I bought a game full-price and then some time later it goes on sale. Edit: I'd also like to add that they'd probably get even *more* sales if they put more of a discount on their games more often. Allow the super-budget gamers a chance to actually *pay* for your game you know?
