Imo that's backwards. Who cares. The backers backed it because they believed in the vision, and now it's been realized, so it's done. It'd be like getting mad that I bought a game full-price and then some time later it goes on sale. Edit: I'd also like to add that they'd probably get even *more* sales if they put more of a discount on their games more often. Allow the super-budget gamers a chance to actually *pay* for your game you know?

Hell, I hope someone over there is reading this: Considering your crowd-funded game's MSRP floor as equal to a donation tier of said backers? Easy solve. Announce the sale and follow immediately with "Backer's Choice": either a refund of the difference *or* a free copy to gift to someone. Boom. Sales through the roof like beanstalks. *Now, go get me that golden egg, ya marketing spooks.🤌🏼*
