@BenAveling@mastodon.world @robinshipton@writing.exchange @matunos@mastodon.social It is not appropriate for us as white people to pretend that "swapping" the races would be some neutral substitution. There is a very real history of racism and extant pattern of systemic racism that is extremely white-specific. Please don't turn someone's life experience into an intellectual exercise that way.

The debate here is about whether or to what extent, it should be considered offensive or acceptable or some combination of both, to say things about whites that would be both offensive and unacceptable to say about other races. There seem to be three options: - completely - somewhat (my view) - not at all.
