@robinshipton@writing.exchange @BenAveling@mastodon.world @matunos@mastodon.social His post ended by saying, "The post shouldn't have been deleted." Mastodon has an established history of trying to prevent targeted harassment on issues like racism and xenophobia by moderating blatantly racist/xenophobic content. The tech industry is overwhelming white and male. To make progress on how to address issues like race perhaps we should work on educating each another and not tossing incendiary bombs at one another.

  • @justinrussell@toad.social He agreed it shouldn't have been deleted… He agreed it wasn't offensive… And yet, he persists in arguing that it *might* be offensive, to someone. Not him, no no. But he cannot rest from defending that hypothetical someone's delicate sensibilities. Patiently laying out how he's engaged in nonsense is the education.

@justinrussell@toad.social @robinshipton@writing.exchange @BenAveling@mastodon.world @matunos@mastodon.social When we white people demand education, we are asking for unpaid labor from Black people. Unpaid labor. From Black people. Do you see how that’s a problem? Instead, buy some books. Why I'm No Longer Talking to White People About Race by Reni Eddo-Lodge https://www.ibramxkendi.com/how-to-be-an-antiracist Otherwise you are, in effect, sealioning. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sealioning Incendiary bombs? Oof. Look up the MOVE bombing. Your feelings hurting is not the same.
