There's certainly some truth in there - the rich do have more power, but it's hardly total. Moreover, "the rich" are not exclusively white, not exclusive male, not exclusively hetrosexual. I believe, seeing that tweet, that a white male likely read it and judged that because it referred to race that it went against server content rules. Saying the same thing but flipping white to black would have been false and incendiary. Mastodon was created as a safe place to avoid harassment and anger and hate. It was also created by a bunch of white guys. This is a teachable moment to all.

@robinshipton@writing.exchange @BenAveling@mastodon.world @matunos@mastodon.social Something I think that is important to note: On Twitter marginalized groups had an upward battle against targeted harassment and hate that was experienced on a daily basis. Twitter users were justified in assuming the worst about other's intentions. Mastodon, by design, wanted to avoid that targeted harassment. There may be issues with moderation moving forward but most Mastodon users aren't here to tone police or attack. We all can learn from this.
