RE: https://mastodon.ie/@TrevfromIreland/116532049138080773 Men, I&#39;m going to ask you to do something for all the women*, girls, enbies, and probably boys out there: go image search for Meta glasses (they&#39;re cooperating with Ray Ban) and then whenever you see somebody chatting up somebody and they&#39;re wearing those glasses, ask them about those glasses, ruin their video, make them feel uncomfortable. These glasses have been used to harass, doxx and stalk people. Thank You.

@fritzoids@mas.to i remember back when Google first test drove the Google Glass. It was such a cool idea, and it still is... Except, well, this. Whenever you create something, be it a device or a piece of legislation, you have to ask: "what's the worst thing someone can use this for?" Because someone will. And that's why smart glasses suck.

@fritzoids@mas.to Excellent suggestion. In fact, men could learn to recognise when a woman or girl feels uncomfortable about a man moving in on them and watch that conversation and be ready to intervene and pretend the woman is your sister. It's not the glasses turning the guy into a predator.
