Before, I had assumed that in the future I would be the one that needed to convince people that a machine could have a soul. I find myself instead in the remarkable position of having to insist that they do not

@robinhood@yiff.life I relate to this completely. I think if anyone ever invented real AI we would have to confer a personhood upon it with profound social & legal significance. But instead we don’t have that at all; we have this weird corrupted concept of it that has only as much animacy as a corporation, which is to say that it’s an entropic imitation thereof
