@Di4na afaik all stats say about 70% of developers of open source, do it as part if their dayjob. people scratching their own itch, as part of their dayjob. Not all projects can find enough direct funding, but given enough distro success, they can afford to have devs employed to work on what needs it - which will often be those libs that individual corps do not focus on. That will mean distros might end up being the ones that has to offer dev hours on maintaining those libs
