We Are Joint Venture is an amazing effort led by the people who are directly impacted by this failed, unjust doctrine.
The proposed legislation would allow impacted people who were convicted solely as joint venturers, who never killed anyone, to ask a court to resentence them.
Because in Massachusetts, if you are convicted of murder as a joint venturer that's life in prison.
MA people, please learn about the bill, attend if you can, and contact your state senators. /3

As with every #STFUfriday post, I'm a lawyer in the USA. These comments are based on law in the USA. (And Miranda rights apply to all people in the USA, whether or not they are citizens.) Some US states provide more protections than this. And joint venture law varies state to state. /end
