looking up my landlord's tax bills for our building because it's one of the reasons he cited for the increase --
taxes have only gone up $300 this year. and that's for the entire 3-unit house, not per-unit.
he definitely just printed out the form letter and filled in the numbers. it also mentions the rising cost of "utilities" and "trash collection" which he doesn't even pay for. such bullshit man.

@xeroxerox@kolektiva.social In Montreal you are able to contest such a thing, and then they have to show their numbers in housing court and a judge can decide what is reasonable. Do you have any recourse there or they just raise it and you pay it?
