I&#39;m not a gearhead so this is far from my own domain, but this is an exceptionally interesting video that should be interesting to most in #GLAM A guitar pedal historian demonstrates the MANY problems with using LLMs for research. Be warned, you might want to be comfortable with being uncomfortable. @beet_keeper@digipres.club At a university in Vienna, there was a presentation on "the issue of AI-generated sources and other nonsense" already noticably diluting existing science papers. IMOI, it's not AIs fault directly: Every overworked person will take /anything/ to satsify the "faster! FASTER! FASTER!" work-overload issues... Unless we allow workloads which are manageable again, noone will take their foot of the gas, I presume?

@beet_keeper@digipres.club That's even more a reason why #GLAM should get actively involed in local LLM/AI setups and knowhow of this tech - while that is still possible. This could be made proper and comparingly easy. Still. Later may be too late, unfortunately, and "later" may be sooner than we admit.
