Never be too shy to send an email. As a writer, I reach out to different people all the time, but even in my personal life, I will email just about anyone. An author whose book I loved? Email delivered! A professor who might point me toward new resources on a topic? Check my sent folder. Write your message with love and care, even if it's to correct something, and you will be surprised at the number of people who reply.

Likewise, I reply to a *lot* of messages I get from readers, and I usually open with, "Thank you for taking the time to read my work and to write to me." Truly, thank you for taking that time. It is meaningful to the recipient.
