The FontShop.com website is now officially closed. Once among the best font websites, it had mostly languished since being sold out to Monotype in 2014, but it’s still sad to see the final nail in its coffin.
When I worked at MyFonts (also now owned by Monotype), FontShop was technically a competitor but it never felt that way: I rooted for their success because they were such a positive force in the industry. They even let me, a “competitor”, work from their office when in SF.
End of an era.
