this also assumes the entire public is aware of what that little light means, if they can even see it in sunny situations. oh, a light! ok, why didn’t you say so, i by all means now consent to endless public recording from human mounted cameras /s

Actually I think the public would generally understand this. Older demographics know what a camera indicator is, and for younger ones, a little light on *sunglasses* would get their attention. Universally? No. But I'd wager the percentage is high enough for a crowd to know.
