you find this same strain of asshole trying to ruin things today: they claim to be "pro human", and that sounds good, but their definition of "human" differs wildly from the normal one. It is, to them, a very small subset of people. Consisting entirely of people who more or less look and/or act the same way as them.

I mean they're super obvious about not thinking we're real living humans! They say it! All the fucking time! They said it then; they said it in Germany when Hitler was in power; they say it now! "NPCs", "degenerates", etc. The whole aspect of "dehumanizing" a group is that they're trying to convince you that some people aren't people and therefore it's okay to do things to them and/or exclude them from protection. So don't fucking listen to their "we're for free speech / personal liberty / pro human". They have a very narrow definition of who counts and a very broad definition of who does not.
