@Phangurl@vmst.io Ok, so between filming seasons of Atlantis, David Hewlett wanted to film his own movie. Real low budget indy style. He wrote it with his then-fiance (now wife). And filmed it with his sister Kate, his best friend (Paul Mcgillion), and his dog. And bought a house to film in. Also the Stargate people let them film on the Daedalus sets for a few scenes, and there are a few cameos from some other stargate folks. But mainly the movie is just David, Kate, Paul, a house, a dog. 1/

@Phangurl@vmst.io It is utterly demented ridiculous humor, but somehow down to earth at the same time? There are so many funny lines that i could quote, *so* many sight gags, and even funny little visual details in the background. Its hard to describe without spoilers. The original pitch was something like "Arsenic and old lace meets Fawlty towers". And i can see that description, but it doesnt come close to describing the style of sillyness to be had. It is just utterly, charmingly, bizarre! 🤣 2/
