I shiver every time the (typically) US media stress that [a bad thing] was done to US citizen/veteran/single mum of three/celebrity/… Not because of the heinous act that was done to the person. But because somehow it’s worse when a bad thing happens to “lovable” person. No it’s effing not. I don’t care if it’s a drug addict, homeless person or convicted felon (just stereotypical examples). Horrible things should not be done to them either. Period.
