@keyboardpipette@genomic.social It's tough to meet the criteria of "defined the times" since back in the 80s and 90s the channels for accessing music were fewer, and sucessful bands would be broadly well known. These days anyone can listen to anything they want, and a lot of smaller and diverse genres are popular. I read an article that said Gen Z listeners musical taste "largely centres on internet-spawned subgenres such as digicore or zoomergaze". Are our times being defined by zoomergaze? Probably not.

@keyboardpipette@genomic.social is 30 included or excluded ? (I turned 30 not long ago). I would like to recommend Christopher Tin, for his Civilization game series contributions. (I also wish his new ending for Puccini Turandot will survive the test of time).

@keyboardpipette@genomic.social I know several people under 30 and I don't think any of them care whether something is trendy, I think that's more of a specifically in high school thing nowadays
