Might fuck around and make a "requests" section where people ask for help Would you put in a request? Is this useful? #fediLearns

not sure if it should go on the home page or elsewhere i kinda want it on the home page, with maybe another jump link at the very top

@dank yeah I mean it just depends how I do the half Currently the home page on a big screen is 3 columns and I don't want to add more columns, so I think that would put requests down at the bottom under all the offers. which is kinda meh. I like the column layout and don't necessarily want to fuck with that though.

@dank this is workshopping and it is very helpful! I appreciate your thoughts. I am using 11ty and it is a static site generator. Records could be the same or different type as I fully define the schema, but there is no live filtering or anything like that, so I can't allow the viewer to choose which they want to see.

@dank Publicizing is fine, the post for it has like 600 or so boosts so I figure it can go wherever lol. I've been trying to keep the site structure pretty lightweight, so I am hesitant to add tags as that's a whole new set of pages to navigate. On the home page there are jump links to each category, they don't take you to a category-specific page but they do visually highlight the category heading when you jump there. (plus, at least with "free" vs "swap" example, I don't have that data from everyone. Free is *assumed* for folks who didn't list a rate, but since many folks submitted before rates were introduced I don't want to specifically label them as free) What are you meaning by feed format? Want to make sure I understand that.

@dank Oh! I probably want to avoid FIFO, separating by day for RSS and allowing people to catch up on new listings is one thing but pure FIFO would be kinda chaotic. Thus the categories, then I have sorted titles alphabetically within categories (as of like....30m ago lol)

  • @inherentlee i think its a good idea! id be likely to put up a request and likely to answer other ppl's requests also
