@saja0486@mas.to I know the feeling. Here in Brazil there is a lot of scammers like that and other criminals who exploit people's trust.
It gets really hard to know who to trust and not feel like crap when one of them scams us.
I hope you can find the right balance between trust and protecting yourself. It is certainly not easy and I imagine even harder when you are in a country you didn't grow on.

@rakuno@gamepad.club yes, very difficult. And now our cleaner is asking us for money. We are traveling this month and I informed him we won’t be paying him the full amount this month because he won’t be able to clean while we are gone. He says his in-law in the province is seriously ill. I want to believe his story and be generous and help him out, but my wife thinks he is lying, and making up a sob story to get us to give him money. I can’t tell if it’s true or a lie.
