@MamaLake I lived for a while in West Acton, MA which had a pretty but somewhat dated public library. (I'm 77). Its encyclopedia was pre-world war II and the maps were a revelation. No good for middle-school homework, but a revelation on how a big war can change borders. Back when I was a kid encyclopedia salesmen went door to door. We had one at home eventually and I enjoyed choosing a letter and reading topics in alphabetical order. Lots of time for reading before screens invaded our lives.
