@mvsde to be fair, in the age of DDoS by AI and rising hosting costs, quite a lot of the boring internet is also dying. although i guess dying gives the wrong implication. it's being killed.

@Yuvalne @mvsde yeah, I'm not sure where LWN getting DDoS'd regularly helps the boring net survive. Or how eyes being diverted to plagiarised copies of the stuff people go out of their way to create helps build communities of interest, (for fun or profit). I appreciate the sentiment of the post, but I've never given two F's about the death of facebook of twiiter. Stuff moves on, it was always inevitable. But the death of search will kill independent community creation.

@Yuvalne This is so true. Anyone who has been out there creating value for free—running a web site, making open source, answering questions on some site—is just being hammered. My web sites are overrun. We have so much running to do just to stand still. @mvsde
