@yacc143 @VeroniqueB99 We'll see what happens as events proceed. WW2 references are irrelevant. It would seem, at least from the US side, that the bombing will topple the current regime, in some way that has not been clearly explained and still remains quite vague. Judging by their actions, Iranians themselves seem either too lazy, too scared, too disorganized or too repressed for too many decades, to accomplish this.

@yacc143 @VeroniqueB99 It is probably more relevant to talk to the Japanese & Germans about how the US took THEM out, in the same war. German bombing of London was a retributive & punitive response to US & UK bombing of German cities. It's military value was miniscule. It was intended to be psychological, terroristic. Your perspective on history is backwards & perverse. But there is no point in bandying words about too deeply at this point. The situation is still majorly in flux right now.
