@VeroniqueB99 His reasoning is sound. Bottom line: wrong venue for a NATO operation. It'd be best to keep it a US/Israeli thing, assisted by whatever gulf countries wish to throw their hats into the ring. The bit about failure is forward looking, & speculative. Something the Israelis understand & the Euros, not so much, is that to the victors go the spoils... Gulf countries know this too, but don't really care because they all got enough oil already. What they want are the Shia to be gone

  • @VeroniqueB99 Everybody's motives in this are shady.. and it's a shady region of the world. Trump wants to create good will among the prosperous countries in the Levant so he can push his ideas for land deals later on down the line. So Ivanka's children's children have an income. Keeping that generational wealth flowing. Israel and Iran each want to see the other destroyed. Israel may get their wish soon. Iran, likely not.

@Felis_Catus_Domesticus Sure, and the Shi'ites have survived being the minority for over a millennia. And the Iranian regime literally survived 47 years most of which were not exactly trivial for it. Deprivation, wars etc is exactly what Iran is used to live with. It's actually Israel and the US that have short attention span here via elections. And parts but not least, no the spoils is a bit more complicated. The gulf states are mostly @VeroniqueB99
