Recycling of minerals is not that far different from just refining them to begin with. Lithium in the ground is mixed with a bunch of other shit and you have to extract it, lithium in a battery is basically the same. So the recycling them is really not a big deal at all.

  • @cjd @nach @djsumdog deep in the ground, with the arsenic and lead. It's when you bring those heavy metals back up to the surface that we have all the trouble. Left's not forget the fantasy (in the USA anyway) that recycling is actually recycled and not merely brought to a different part of the landfill in the off chance that on day someone will want a few tons of cardboard.
