@cjd @nach @djsumdog Not factored is the long term cost of chemical batteries. It's very like the CCP to release a product that will utterly destroy an ecosystem just to be first to market. How are these new batteries recycled, if they can be? What kind of waste is their manufacture producing?

    Recycling of minerals is not that far different from just refining them to begin with. Lithium in the ground is mixed with a bunch of other shit and you have to extract it, lithium in a battery is basically the same. So the recycling them is really not a big deal at all.
