The idea of "trust thermoclines" was brought to my attention today, in the context of Unity deciding to destroy their customer base.

@aurynn@cloudisland.nz The sense I got with Unity was that they jumped from gradual enshittification directly to throwing bricks through their customers' windows. Less hitting the trust thermocline than sprinting to the ocean floor.
