@gregatron5@vmst.io I run https://adguard.com/en/adguard-home/overview.html on my firewall, but my setup is probably more complicated than any sane person needs. I have regular non-blocking DNS for the whole network and an alias group of MAC addresses that get redirected to the AdGuard IP address by NAT rules. Also I discovered that the Chromecast is sneaky and it will reconfigure its own DNS if it can’t phone home, so that device in particular also has a NAT rule capturing DNS-over-HTTPS traffic to Google DNS.
