@yacc143 @rejzor @EthicalProfessor Unfortunately, there are so many ultra conservative denominations that don't see the hypocrisy of their actions/pronouncements versus the faith that they claim to follow. Evangelicals, Baptists, Mormons, etc. need to "see the light", but I doubt they ever will.

    @Thorium The point is that these denominations at least at the time I had religion classes in school as a kid here in Europe counted mostly as cults, not mainstream religions. Abnormal bad for society things. Not something that is okay like Catholics, Protestants, Muslims, ... All nice recognized mainstream religions. With treaties with the state and classes in school. (Austria had Muslims since the 19th century during its day as an empire, shrug) @rejzor @EthicalProfessor

    @Thorium This is btw not random, it has it's roots in historical developments: yes the US got our religious fundamentalists as their as a certain percentage of their initial settlers. Yes when the workers movements developed in the 19th century, in the USA there reaction was a full blown rich is good, being poor is a moral weakness ideology. Europe got universal healthcare. (Literally, the German conservatives during the German empire @rejzor @EthicalProfessor
