This is btw not random, it has it's roots in historical developments: yes the US got our religious fundamentalists as their as a certain percentage of their initial settlers.
Yes when the workers movements developed in the 19th century, in the USA there reaction was a full blown rich is good, being poor is a moral weakness ideology. Europe got universal healthcare.
