There's a music festival taking place in a load of venues in my hometown in May. I went along last year to support a friend in his band, and saw a few cool bands I wouldn't have checked out otherwise.
My band applied to play this year, the festival has posted the final lineup and we've not been selected. Fine, but I haven't even had a rejection email.
Someone I know is performing in 5 different bands. A lot of the same bands from last year are playing.

I can't help but feel like we've been snubbed. I get that not everyone is into heavy metal, but there's an entire venue where they can put the metal in and keep it siloed away from the rest of the lineup. I'm frustrated because, from what I've been told, the organisers have basically turned their nose up at us because they've already got a metal band so they don't need another. Fuck 'em, I won't bother applying again for next year. We're going to try and record some more music that weekend.
