This is a terrible idea that would likely backfire more than Palestine Action proscription. Yes the silence from people who are normally vocal about anti-racism over recent attacks on Jews in the UK is deafening. Yes this only helps the far right and Kahanists in Israel to claim ‘look no-where is safe for you, no-one cares, come here and fight for a safe home’. But banning marches against the actions of a country that’s killing journalists, rescue worker and medics, starving kids, flattening homes and literally punching nuns will only make things much worse. At the same time it would be good to see those march organisers redouble efforts to say antisemitism isn’t welcome, which a phrase like ‘globalise the intifada’ kinda invites. These should be marches all UK Jews feel safe to attend, and no not the Neturei Karta who only oppose Israel because the Messiah isn’t here yet and it’s too liberal (tbh plenty of UK diaspora do attend them, but many feel scared). https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2026/may/02/keir-starmer-calls-for-ban-on-some-pro-palestian-protests-british-jews
