Another thing I never got about Star Trek…
If the bridge has view screens but no actual windows, why put it on top of the saucer, in a vulnerable position? Why not locate deep within the core of the ship where it's arguably more protected?

@JeremyMallin@autistics.life I always had it in my head cannon that this is because the Bridge is in a module, which can be removed and replaced, thus enabling a bridge upgrade to be undertaken with relative ease!
