Load shedding is when power companies reduce electricity consumption by switching off the power supply to groups of customers (we take turns with the power) because the entire system is at risk. This is because there is a shortage of electricity supply. If we didn't do it, the grid would collapse. I know, a lot of my international friends are excited about the word "loadshedding" but it's not as hot as you think it is lol
