I'm playing #Valheim, musing on how cozy the early game is, and how unrelentingly brutal it becomes by late game. I currently have a relay of portals, after going through five ships and about three hours of real time trying to retrieve some equipment, and dying many more times along the way.
I do this for fun ...

I consider this game like a sand mandala, where one creates intricate patterns of coloured sand, then wipe them away, to meditate on impermanence and the importance of not becoming attached to material possessions. One creates a beautiful world, only to wipe it away and start fresh. #Valheim

@si_fuller@aus.social I believe it's much more geared towards group play in the later game, where you can specify in a kind of weapon but rely on another specification to actually make it through every encounter. That starts in the Mistlands, with the addition of magical weapons and certainly gets stronger in the Ashlands with the jewels. Playing solo in the Ashlands is... very harsh.
