@GustavinoBevilacqua huh. Funny that Wikipedia says “less common in Canada”. Here in BC, practically all grocery store chains I know of use a coin-lock and possibly electronic wheel locks on their carts (although some of those I don’t think are real, and just scare tactics…) I’ve been 3D printing plastic tokens to keep in the car to use the coin locks.
