@JdeBP@mastodonapp.uk Years ago a friend was at an international conference. He noted others had a list of languages they spoke on their badges. His just had English. So he added 'American'. Two elderly women approached and asked for the powder room. He assumed the women wanted somewhere to check their makeup so said "I don’t think there is one but you can just do it here." Nowadays most of us in the UK see a lot of American TV and films so I guess we do speak at least two languages?
