At the KVMR Celtic Fair this weekend, a fencing group just a few yards from us was giving out roses to the winners of each duel. They seemed to be sending out runners with them to people nearby. When one of them ran by, I said, "Oh, how sweet, is that for me?" They replied, "No, but the next one will be," and sure enough, 10 minutes later, they brought one to me. They gave me the second one afterward and I don't know why. Maybe because I wore the rose on my doublet so prominently.
